Michelle's Blog

My name is Michelle Joseph and I was born and raised in Birmingham, AL. I am 1 of 4 children and have had to opportunity to grow up surrounded by a loving and intimate family. As a child, I attended Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Elementary School and then went on to John Carroll Catholic High School. I then went on to attended college at the University of Alabama where I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and a minor in Computing Technology and Applications. Currently, I am a 5th year alternative master’s graduate student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where I am getting my master’s in early childhood/elementary education.
Technology is very important to me as a teacher. I plan to integrate computers in the classroom because it is important that students learn how to handle the technological advancements in our world today. It is also crucial that I learn these advancements as well so that I can teach the students my knowledge about computers and different programs that will benefit them in future classes and real world situations.
Three things I expect to learn from EDT 300:
1. How to create professional documents in a timely manner
2. How to create a lesson plan
3. How to use relational database techniques
